The goal of these monthly meetings is to ignite conversations around talkPOPc’s  topics and reignite conversations that were started at previous talkPOPc happenings (which are posted on our podcast). This conversation event will be on the current topic “Power” and will be run by talkPOPc Resident Philosophers Dena Shottenkirk and Tyler Olds at Liz’s Book Bar (315 Smith Street Brooklyn, NY 11231), July 26th, 7:00pm-8:00pm.

This will be a group discussion, unlike the one-to-one conversations held in our tent.  There will be a selection of works surrounding the topic “Power” incorporated into the event.

Prompted by talkPOPc founder Dena Shottenkirk’s painting Entstehen (2025) we will discuss Martin Heidegger’s essay “The Origin of the Work of Art” and his book Being and Time.
